Do What You Love, Love What You Do

Post by Veronica Eyenga, contributing Women On Business writer

Money is, oftentimes, the driving force in any decision we make in regards to our careers.  But, what do you do when the career making you plenty of money isn’t exactly a career that you love?

As entrepreneurs, we’ve all stared this decision in the face and chosen one path over the other.  Love over money.  Or vice versa.

What can doing what you love do for you?

  • Make more money. If you think about it, which waitress is likely to make more money in tips – The unhappy one or the one who appears to be doing something she loves?
  • Feel less stress. In doing something you enjoy, tasks and deadlines are less likely to cause stress or make you feel pressured.
  • Share your passion. If you’re passionate about what you do and sharing your knowledge, others will be more receptive to what you have to say.
  • Increase your happiness. Ultimately, allowing yourself to choose what you love will make you happier.  Who doesn’t like that idea?

At some point, we all have to make a decision whether or not to follow our hearts.  If you haven’t been faced with this decision already, what will you do when it’s your turn?  Will you choose to do what you love?
