I heard a phrase a long time ago that became something of a mantra to me: make the process pleasurable. If it's not, then you're in the wrong business.

Wow. I never see much cursing on these professional blogs but I found that interjection quite refreshing.

We are all impatient when the button we push does not work or we have to sit on hold for more than 7 seconds. I think our peace of mind needs to come from taking a break, changing tasks, and just acceptance that the process is in place for a reason. Unless, we have a better solution and time to test that out, we should not obsess but give ourselves alternatives for focus so that we will not feel things are moving too slowly. Does staring at a teapot make the water boil any faster?

So get up and come back to it. There is your process.
