Make a Change Now

By

Guest post by Anna Dworaczynska (learn more about Anna at the end of this post)

Have you ever noticed how many of us wait for the New Year to change our lives?  We make a long list of goals, which we are planning to accomplish next year. We plan that we’ll finally lose weight, make time for things that really matter to us, or change our careers to list a few.

How many of us have heard ‘in a New Year I will…’ before?

I used to behave that way too, until I realized I will never be in control of my life if I continue making excuses all the time.

I know it is always more convenient to have a strong alibi to cover for our indecisiveness and lack of courage to change something right away.
It is especially challenging, when there are only a few people around us who are strong and dedicated enough to make any kind of change today.

Each day brings am opportunity to make a change. How is the promise we make on a New Year’s Eve different from the one we can make today, right this moment? To me, none.

As an old American proverb says ‘ Today is the first day of the rest of your life.’

Make a change now, however small it may be.
