Real Simple Magazine Wants to Know if Facebook can be Your Friend
By Susan Gunelius
A new article from Real Simple magazine asks, “Can Facebook be Your Friend?” As a marketing, branding and social media expert in my day job, I’m constantly writing about the social web, including Facebook, telling my clients they should be using it to build their brands, and citing it in my books and blogs.
I constantly view Facebook as a business tool and forget sometimes that it can be plain old fun to reconnect with people via the social networking tools of the web. The article from Real Simple magazine reminded me that it’s important to take a break from the business-related social networking and remember there is another audience of users who use it strictly for fun. That’s something busy business people often put too low on the list of priorities.
How about you? Do you find time to do personal social networking online using tools like Facebook and Twitter or do you have barely enough time to use them for business-related networking each day? I always have grand plans for them each day, but there never seem to be enough hours in the day!
