Are you protecting the files on your computer? According to research by Seagate and Harris Interactive, 54% of U.S. adults know someone who has lost files due to computer failures.

Despite the fact that 90% of U.S. adults feel that their data is valuable, 25% of them never backup that data. The study also found that women are less likely to backup their data than men. 30% of women do not backup their data versus 19% for men.

The infographic below shows all of the details. If you’re not backing up your data, consider trying one of the free (or low cost if you have a large amount of data) cloud backup services, which continually synchronize with your computer (and enable you to access your files and synchronize them from any computer or mobile device). Dropbox and Box.net are very popular cloud storage options, but if you’d prefer to work with a woman-owned company, SugarSync is a great choice.
