College Level Training for Virtual Assistants in High Demand

January 21, 2011 By WOB

PRESS RELEASE

O’Fallon, IL (January 20, 2011) The entrepreneurial spirit has long been a vital part of the economic cornerstone of our country; a trend that still holds strong today. In fact, a recent report in Entrepreneur Magazine indicates that small, home-based businesses continue to thrive, and leading the way is the Virtual Assistant Industry. Entrepreneur lists the virtual assistant (VA) industry as one of the top four such businesses in demand for 2011.

Recognizing the growth of the VA industry, more and more colleges are offering virtual assistant training and certificate programs. Many of these colleges have chosen Virtual Assistant – The Series: Become a Highly Successful, Sought After VA, one of the leading entrepreneurial books on the subject, as the course material for their program.

As Tom Smerk, an instructor at Grossmont College in San Diego, CA states, “I searched high and low for just the right course material for my college classes. Virtual Assistant – The Series stood out not only for the quality content, but because there is an accompanying workbook available that allows students to answer questions, record all their thoughts and notes by chapter which makes for great assignments. I found the layout of the chapters and length of the book to be ideal for a 16-18 week college semester. I just added my own lecture notes and provided some hands-on exercises based on the reading.”

Virtual Assistant – The Series is currently used in over a dozen colleges throughout the United States, and is looking to partner with others to introduce the virtual assistant program to their students. The authors of the book, Kelly Poelker and Diana Ennen, have been helping virtual assistants succeed for many years, and are available as instructors and guest speakers.

Now in its 4th edition, VA The Series is considered the “bible” of the VA industry. Together with its companion workbook, Virtual Assistant – The Series Workbook Edition, it forms an unparalleled training tool designed to teach students how to work virtually and start a virtual assistant business.

Contact Kelly Poelker directly at authors@va-theseries.com or stop by http://www.VA-TheSeries.com for additional information.
