Female Entrepreneurs Can Win $50,000 to Start a Business

By

Thanks to the Small Biz Survival blog for putting this contest on my radar. Mirassou Winery is a big supporter of women in business and female entrepreneurs. The company is holding a Make Your Dreams Come True with Mirassou contest that will reward one lucky winner with $50,000 to start her dream business. Additionally, three runners up will receive Talbot shopping sprees to refresh their business wardrobes.

To enter, simply fill out an online application by December 15, 2007. Here are the details from the Mirassou Winery website:

The “Make Your Dreams Come True with Mirassou” contest is open to women who aspire to open a new business. To enter, applicants must submit a personal essay of 500 words or less describing themselves and why they think they would make a successful entrepreneur. A preliminary business plan will also be required and should include: 1) a description of the new business, 2) the consumer appeal to the new business, and 3) a plan to implement the new business.

Entrants must be U.S. residents of at least 21-years of age. You can follow the link to read the complete contest rules. Good luck!

Susan, thanks for the link. Although the contest is closed for this year, I’m betting they will repeat it in 2008. All my best for a prosperous new year!
