10 Tips for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs

Aspiring women entrepreneurs should build their support networks and learn from other women who already carved out their paths to success. Entrepreneur Kate Endress of Ditto.com shared these 10 tips for aspiring female entrepreneurs:

  1. Join a Meetup for women entrepreneurs in your area.
  2. Contact your alumni association to find out what women in business resources they have.
  3. Look at universities in your area to see if they have women in business events you can join.
  4. Get a mentor (or three).
  5. Meet people with confidence.
  6. Research government programs for female entrepreneurs.
  7. Create a peer network for yourself from friends or women you meet at events.
  8. Expand your qualifications.
  9. Utilize your experience as a woman to relate to female customers.
  10. Hire the best.

    I have been so fortunate to find so many women’s entrepreneurial groups in San Diego, if it have not been for the lovely ladies at Wink and Exceptional Entrepreneurs, I would have no idea what the heck I am supposed to be doing.

    The 10 tips above are direct to the point and they are actionable. I’m glad that there is a site that focuses on helping women entrepreneurs. I just want to add that hiring the best should also be backed up with training them to develop their skills further.
