Many businesses need extra help, but their needs might not warrant hiring full-time employees. They might have a temporary skills gap or a seasonal surge that requires additional manpower. This is exactly when on-demand workers can help.

On demand workers work in a variety of industries and provide a diverse list of services. It is very common to find on-demand workers filling positions in admin, promotions and events, hospitality, warehouses, general services, technology, retail, and sales.

There are many benefits to hiring on-demand workers. Five of the top benefits are discussed below, so you can determine if on-demand is the right choice for your business.

1. Choice

When you hire on-demand workers, you can choose the best workers for the specific roles you need to fill from a large number of qualified people.

2. Flexibility

Hiring on-demand workers gives you more flexibility because there aren’t long-term contracts. Instead, workers are hired as needed for specific projects. You can hire someone for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks.  It’s up to you.

3. Speed

You can scale up or down very quickly when you hire on-demand workers. Just determine the skills you need, post your job on an on-demand work marketplace like Workfast, and workers will bid on your job almost immediately.

4. Savings

You’ll save time and money when you book on-demand workers. That’s because you’ll avoid the costly hiring process and skip the dreaded hours of sifting through stacks of resumes.

5. Easy

On-demand workers are paid when the work is completed. You identify how much the job pays when you post the job. The best part is that you don’t have to worry about payroll hassles.

What Type of Workers Look for On-Demand Work

Workers from all walks of life and with all levels of skills and expertise look for on-demand work. Most are attracted by the flexibility that on-demand work offers. They can choose their own schedules and earnings based on the jobs they bid for.

Many on-demand work marketplaces pay workers at the end of their shifts on a daily basis. A large number of workers like the continual influx of cash that this payment model offers to them.

How to Choose an On-Demand Work Marketplace

If you’re ready to hire on-demand workers, you need an on-demand work marketplace to post your jobs. Be sure to choose a marketplace that doesn’t charge a lot of fees. Red flags include fees to sign up, fees to post jobs, and “success” fees.

Also, make sure the marketplace has a good pool of workers with positive, real reviews. It’s important that the marketplace is easy for you to use and handles all (or most of) the paperwork and payment processing.

Finally, look for a marketplace that has an easy-to-use website, and if you’re often on the go, choose a marketplace that offers a mobile app for posting jobs and hiring workers.
