PRESS RELEASE
November 30, 2010 – Vancouver, BC – Coast Capital Savings staff are celebrating their CEO Tracy Redies today after she received the 2010 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ Award presented by the Women’s Executive Network.
Redies nabbed the prestigious recognition in the Corporate Executives Category. This is the third time Redies has made the Top 100.
The Women’s Executive Network awards recognize the highest achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in Canada. Winners are selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, their organization’s financial performance, and their commitment to their communities.
“We’re proud and thrilled to acknowledge Tracy and can’t think of a more deserving winner,” says Bill Wellburn, Chair of Coast Capital’s Board of Directors. “Tracy is always working hard to bring innovation to the financial services industry, which includes offering simple financial help to our customers, and making the community at large a better place. We think she’s pretty fantastic and we’re not surprised that the Women’s Executive Network has chosen to honour her with this award.”
Redies has more than 20 years of experience in the international financial services industry. She took on the role of Coast Capital’s CEO in June 2009, bringing with her business savvy and a dynamic, inspiring leadership style. Her passion goes beyond the financial services industry through her leadership roles on various high profile educational boards and business associations. Redies is a board director for the C.D. Howe Institute, Vancouver Board of Trade, and a member of the Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Finance Committee. She is also a director of CH.I.L.D – a Canadian foundation dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn’s colitis and other gastric illnesses in children.
Earlier this year, Redies received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Victoria and was also recently listed among B.C.’s 100 most influential women by the Vancouver Sun.
“Every year, we honour the exceptional female leaders of Canada,” says Pamela Jeffery, founder of Women’s Executive Network. “They each have remarkable achievements and Top 100 is a mark of their success and how they have supported their communities, companies, and employees. Our Top 100 community is a powerful group of women who are at the top of their game, exemplify success and empower the next generation of women to take their careers to the next level.”
Redies was honoured last night at the Top 100 Awards Gala Dinner in Toronto.
