Housewives and stay-at-home moms may be busy women, but many still want to work. With their busy schedules, a traditional job, or even working full-time, can be too much, so they look out for options that are flexible. These women are potential entrepreneurs who can build successful side businesses using their own talents and generate impressive incomes.

The Hobby Photographer Can Step up Her Game

If you spend your weekends enjoying your passion for taking amazing photos, you might want to consider selling those photos. You can use a portfolio site template to showcase all your best work. You can include options to purchase the photos and contact instructions for people who may want to hire you for your skills. You can also look at selling your images to stock photo sites. Before you know it, you could be pulling in some money each week simply for doing something you’ve already been doing for a while.

Get Your Crafty On

Are you someone who loves to sew? Maybe you spend your spare time knitting small amigurumi dolls for your kids and loved ones that could turn into a bit more. What about all those kitschy DIY projects that turn out really great and people ask you to make some for them? All of these hobbies are things you could easily turn into a business and sell in your spare time. With sites like Etsy, selling your handmade awesomeness is really easy, and it never has to take more time than you want it to. As your time becomes more available, you can dive in and add to your product line.

Sell Those Paintings that Aren’t Going Anywhere

Great painters paint quite often. This means they have tons of artwork sitting around. Many painters will start giving their work away in order to make room for more work. Rather than letting your paintings pile up and take up all your room, start selling them. You can opt for a booth at a local fair or street market once in a while and sell small paintings. You can negotiate with local galleries to host a show and try to sell your art that way. You can also try to sell them online on sites like Etsy or Ebay. The possibilities can be endless and don’t have to require much effort beyond what you’re already putting into your artwork.

Teach a Class Online

Not everyone wants to part with their artwork and that is okay. Some people really love to teach others their craft and encourage personal expression through art. Teaching classes can sound like an overwhelming endeavor when you think you have to find the space, the students, and have materials completely ready to go before your class starts. There is a simpler way. Skillshare is a website that will allow you to teach a class that students want to learn. Students pay a fee, and you get a portion of that fee each month that someone takes your class. Maybe you want to teach the basics of camera functions or a specific knitting technique? This is the perfect option for you. You can teach about anything else that you can possibly imagine, and it won’t take as much time as if you tried to teach a class at your local community center, library, or community college.

Housewives can make money from home. Stay-at-home moms can make money at home. Anyone can certainly take the time to make a bit of money from home. You just have to use your talents in new ways to make it happen!
